Player Customization

I've been working on adding some basic customization for registered players. When you are in the lobby, you can select an available player and view some basic stats. The system right now works, but the player info space is very small and has little customization. I am making it larger and more appealing.

I plan on giving the player the option to customize the background and maybe even the foreground. Players could unlock different looks by having a high enough level, kill death ratio, or possibly completing streamlined "challenges."

I want players to have an identity in Nexus to give them incentive to keep playing and be rewarded for their accomplishments.

  1. Streamlined challenges? So... say, stuff like reaching a certain number of kills, reaching certain number of deaths, not using any powerups for x games, only using a certain powerup in a game at least x times, so on so forth?

That might be amusing. You can also set it up so that you get progressive challenges (say, you get one reward at 1000 kills, and another one when you get to 5000 kills or something like that), and you can make the expanded profile custom with badges/symbols instead of just colors too (ie: have one skull symbol available with 1000 kills, and two skull symbols for 5000 kills or something).

Obviously, this won't show up in the mini profile - that would just be the fore/background colors. It's just something to think about with the expanded profile.

  2. That's the idea, but this hasn't gotten too far in implementation yet so I'm not promising anything.
